What's there to do at Janua Coeli? That's a good question... it might be easier to respond to the question, "What isn't there to do?". Here's some highlights though of some of the fun activities to do in our neck of the woods:

  • Work With the Horses - Learn to ride and care for our two Tobiano Paint horses, Elizabeth and Bella. Come back home after your week stay on the retreat and teach your city-slicker friends a thing or two about life on the range...
  • Learn to Cook! - Have you ever wanted to make your own pizza from scratch? Think maybe you can show Pizza Hut a thing or two? How about making your own ice cream? Our resident expert in all things tasty, Amanda, is a professional chef who loves to share her knowledge with budding chefs like yourselves.
  • Visit a Buffalo Farm - If you've only seen these magnificent animals in the old cowboy movies, you're in for a treat. Don't forget your camera.
  • Pan for Gold - Just like they did it in the Wild West, all you need is a sifting pan and determination and you might just strike it big! Best of all, the Janua Coeli gold-panning areas are guaranteed bandito free (unless you count siblings) .
  • See the Biltmore Mansion - It's America's Largest Home. If you thought cleaning YOUR room was bad, imagine cleaning the Biltmore Mansion's 250 rooms! There's also 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool (20 feet deep in parts) and even a bowling alley! Bring your walking shoes for this one.
  • Outdoor Activities - Hiking, swimming, fishing, camping, tubing... whatever you can think of, it's likely we have it in the area. Bring your sense of adventure.

What to Bring - Toothbrush, mom and dad, any brothers and sisters... don't forget mom and dad!
